Trish felt just a pleased as this client did to receive his letter of thanks today.  To spend a little time with someone sorting out a problem  they can’t sort themselves means so much to them, many people don’t have the confidence with technology to know who to call or how to   make that call.

Well done to Tracey who was chosen as ‘Employee of the Month’ for June 2015 by Jayne and Belinda, our Care Managers.  Tracey has been praised this month for doing well in her supervisions and also we have had good feedback for the work she has carried out.

Today, Mr John Barlow was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by our Managing Director Ms.Karen Hughes. John has faced numerous difficult situations over the last couple of months yet continued to provide his clients with a high level of care and support. The managers at Michael Phillips Care Agency Ltd have a difficult job choosing any one specific carer, but noted that John has been an outstanding carer in recent weeks, helping out during staff absence and providing an exemplary level of support to all his clients under sometimes difficult circumstances. Well done John.

Today our MD (Karen Hughes) presented the latest Manual Handling Legislation course at Michael Phillips Care Agency Ltd.  We have one more scheduled session to go before all legislation training is up-to-date.  All ten candidates attending the course will receive their signed certificates on Thursday.

MICHAEL PHILLIPS CARE AGENCY LTD have provided quality homecare services in North Denbighshire for over 18 years.  Their support workers provide consistently high levels of care with an emphasis on ensuring that independent living and flexible lifestyles are maintained.  All staff hold an Enhanced Disclosure (CRB/DBS) and take part in the company’s intensive in house training scheme which provides the various skills to enable them to confidently provide all aspects of support in your own home.  We spoke to their Managing Director Ms.Karen Hughes who said:

“We are dedicated to all our clients and staff and are proud to have won numerous awards in recent years.  We don’t have any hidden extra costs, which is important when clients are trying to obtain their care on a budget, they want to know exactly what their costs will be, with no hidden extras for the little things we are expected to provide anyway as a condition of our regulations.  I’ve provided a list of our costs below and an idea of what is provided for free to all our clients”.

Below is a list of costs for one carer attending, though double handed calls can be provided for manual handling and hoist purposes.

1 hour   £13.25
¾ hour  £10.83
½ hour  £9.05
¼ hour  £5.42
Mileage only charged on shopping / accompanying calls at £0.35p per mile.

Michael Phillips Care Agency Ltd don’t charge for the following:
Time spent receiving telephone calls to the office during the day or to the emergency out of hours phone.
All visits for initial introduction to agency.
All subsequent visits by senior representatives from Michael Phillips Care Agency Ltd, such as Private Client Reps, Quality Reps or Care Managers for whatever reason.
Retainer fees are not charged on any private packages under any circumstances.
No extra charge for Bank Holidays or Weekends.
No charge for calls cancelled, whether one off cancellations or hospital admissions.
No charge for re-assessment following discharge.
No mileage charge for carers to travel to and from your home.

Manual Handling Legislation Training

Pictured are the employees who took part today in our MH Session on legislation and the principles of MH.

On Tuesday 5th August we provided our first of many Manual Handling Legislation training sessions to bring everyone up-to-date with their knowledge surrounding Manual Handling and Hoist Awareness. This in-house course helps our employees to understand the implications of the law and to ensure they are aware of all the principles of safe handling, not just in their work environment but in every aspect of their daily lives. The training was provided by our Managing Director – Ms.Karen Hughes and she will be providing numerous sessions over the coming 2 months.

Food Hygiene Training

Over the past 4 months, Mrs.Patricia Stubbs (Little Brown Bag Training) has been bringing our Food Hygiene Training up to date. We have one more class of 10 to complete after which all Certificates will be presented the staff who have attended as new employees or those who required updated training.

The staff have thoroughly enjoyed the training sessions with Pat, who we consider to be an excellent trainer. Pat also offers other various courses and we will continue to utilise her excellent training services at Michael Phillips Care Agency Ltd.
